My professional life has been dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others through listening to and telling stories. For many years, I did this as a journalist. Eventually, I realized I wanted to make a more direct personal impact. Ultimately, this led me to become a psychotherapist.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I earned my Master of Arts in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute and I attained my clinical training at the renowned Southern California Counseling Center providing therapy to clients dealing with a wide-range of concerns including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I completed intensive advanced training in trauma and resiliency with an emphasis on attachment-focused Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). In addition, I have co-facilitated parenting groups and participated in a school-based counseling program. I also have extensive training in the Violet Oaklander Gestalt Play Therapy method for children.
I’m passionate about helping people reach their goals and leading emotionally healthy lives. To that end, my professional development and education continues regularly as I attend specialized workshops, trainings, and classes to learn the latest best practices as well as in-depth information about various modalities and interventions.
I am affiliated with the following professional organizations:
-
American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT): National & California Clinical Fellow
-
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT): Clinical Member
-
Los Angeles Chapter of CAMFT (LA-CAMFT): Clinical Member

In addition to my professional life, I enjoy reading, swimming, long beach walks, and making art. The paintings featured on this site are my own work.
