My philosophy regarding personal growth and healing is rooted in the understanding that the emotions, mind, and body are intertwined. Therefore, I believe an integrated holistic approach to mental health is the most effective.
My approach is informed by the Narrative and Post-Modern principles of therapy, which promote the ideas that you are the expert on your life and the problems you face do not define you. With curiosity and compassion, I will examine with you the issues you are confronting. Together we will seek to uncover your many skills and values with the goal of reducing the negative influence of your challenges on your life.
As part of the process and when appropriate, I incorporate a variety of modalities, including attachment-focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), somatic awareness, mindfulness, and meditation.
Therapy does not have to be unending; it can often be relatively brief and quite effective. Through collaborative conversations and the connection we develop, my hope is that you will be able to focus on your strengths, build resilience, and live a more joyful meaningful life.
